Pharmaceutical and healthcare practice

Our Pharmaceutical and Healthcare practice is able to offer complete representation—from regulatory services to litigation.  Our healthcare team’s experience is both broad and deep.  From assisting our clients in navigating the complex requirements to establish a medical or healthcare business in Mexico; to shepherding our clients through the complex process of application approvals; to representing them in disputes and reviews, Solcargo’s depth as a full-service law firm allows us to provide our clients with multi-pronged strategies and continuity of legal representation.

Approvals, Permits, and Licenses: Solcargo has the expertise and relationships needed to guide our clients through the entire approvals process. From new drug applications and licensing medical facilities to supplementary and generics approvals, we shepherd our clients through all the steps necessary to operate in the Mexican market. We successfully represent our clients before both IMPI (the federal patent and trademark authority) and COFEPRIS (the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk, equivalent to the FDA).

Representation:  At Solcargo, we guide our clients through the entire market entry and operations process.  In addition to steering the approvals process, we provide marketing advice for pharmaceutical products, medical devices and medical equipment, as well as legal advisory services that help our clients navigate the many differences between U.S. and Mexican law that can affect facilities licensing, patents, data exclusivity, and other rights relating to pharmaceutical manufacture and sales.  As the Mexican law and regulatory experts, we assist our clients in avoiding the pitfalls of these differences in patent procurement and scope, approvals and licensing, and market entry.   As a total solution provider, we also vigorously represent our clients’ interests in public and private litigation and arbitration.
