Representative Experience

  • Mr. De la Parra practice focuses on consultancy and litigation in copyright, freedom of expression, moral damages, right of publicity and right of privacy, cyber-law and, in general, all the legal aspects of the entertainment, culture and information industries.
  • He has a broad experience in the legal advising of film productions in Mexico and international co-productions. Besides, he is a highly recognized expert in copyright, industrial property, right of publicity and moral damages themes.
  • Mr. De la Parra is one of the legal practitioners with more copyright cases before the Supreme Court, including the first binding and most important precedent in the field.
  • He is a professor at the Faculty of Law of the National Autonomous University of Mexico teaching “Intellectual Property” at the under-graduate level, and “Copyright I”, “Copyright II” and “The Intellectual Property for the Companies” at the graduate level.
  • Also, he is a professor at graduate courses of the Panamerican University, teaching “Right of Publicity” at the Mexico City campus, and “Copyright”, “Trademarks” and “Civil Litigation in Intellectual Property” at the Guadalajara campus.
  • Mr. De la Parra worked at the European Union’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (the Design and Trademark Office of the European Union).
  • He was visiting professor of the University of Alicante, Spain.
